Business Sales

Selling a business is rarely straightforward.

You can try to manage the process yourself, engage a traditional broker and pay a large percentage of the sale price, or work with Hit Refresh.

My role is different.

I’m not a broker. Instead, I provide the same practical guidance, structure and negotiation support you would expect during a business sale, but in a far more transparent and cost-effective way. Rather than charging a commission based on the sale price, I work on a simple flat fee. The result is the same outcome-focused support, without the pressure that can sometimes come from percentage-based commissions.

At Hit Refresh, I support small business owners through the sale process by combining commercial insight, independent advice and hands-on guidance.

The first step is understanding your situation. Why are you selling, and what does a successful outcome look like for you? For some owners it’s maximising price. For others it’s a smooth transition to the right buyer, managing timing around lease commitments or tax considerations, or simply exiting the business cleanly.

From there, we take a structured look at the business itself. This includes reviewing financial performance, normalising earnings, assessing lease arrangements and identifying the key factors that will influence buyer confidence and value.

Once the foundations are clear, we prepare the business for sale. This involves presenting the financials in a clear and credible way, advising on pricing strategy, identifying potential red flags early and positioning the opportunity to attract the right type of buyer.

Where required, I also work alongside your accountant and lawyer to ensure the structure, documentation and tax considerations are aligned before the business goes to market.

Throughout the process, you receive independent guidance on offers, negotiation strategy and deal terms — not just the headline price, but also settlement timing, conditions, handover periods and risk.

Selling a business is one of the most important financial decisions an owner will make. Having the right guidance can make a significant difference to both the outcome and the experience.

If you’d like to explore your options, it all starts with a confidential conversation.
